Coconut-based surfactants
The detergent used in Botanicals shampoo is ammonium laureth sulphate, made from a vegetable base.
The molecular size of this detergent is too large to pass through the skin barrier. Which means it is not absorbed by the body, and cannot build up in body tissue. It is also very mild, gives an excellent result, and is much less of an irritant than the more usual sodium laureth sulphate (SLES) used in the majority of shampoos.
