Botanicals launch new organic skin care range
Press release. Issued Jan 25th 2010
Botanicals, a specialist manufacturer of natural body care products, has just announced the launch of their new, organic skin care range. Certified organic by the Soil Association, the products are suitable for all skin types, and are offered in two special blends: rose and camellia for normal, dry and mature skin, and chamomile and mandarin for oily and combination skin.
“We are all very excited by this launch,” explained Wendy Stirling, the company’s founder. “Like all our products, the development of our new facial range was based on holistic principles and carefully formulated to restore natural balance to the skin.”
Asked about the ingredients used in the range, Wendy said: “We are passionate about finding and utilising the most high-performing ingredients available in nature; those that contain high levels of natural antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, for optimal nourishment and repair.
“From a formulating perspective, this can be quite challenging,” added Wendy. “Which is one of the reasons I believe it hasn’t become mainstream. In many ways, our production methods are closer to food than cosmetics.
“They are made in small batches to preserve their active botanical properties. The percentage of active ingredients we use is always sufficient to have a therapeutic benefit. And our processing methods ensure that the active nutrients of the plant aren’t destroyed by heating or over-processing.”
Most of Botanicals sales come through their website at www.botanicals.co.uk. The site offers full ingredients listings as well as information on how all their products can be used. It explains that natural oils not only cleanse and lubricate the skin, but also have a healing and moisturising effect.
The new, botanically active skin care range includes:
Botanicals deep cleansing melt and Botanicals skin polish (£14.95): Both deeply nourishing, facial cleansers penetrate the skin’s lower layers, removing impurities and restoring natural balance. Their unique plant-oil based formulation literally dissolves make up, and yet is water soluble; being easily removed with a hot cloth or warm water, and leaving no oily reside.
The cleansers are based on the homeopathic principle that ‘like cures like’, or in this case ‘oil dissolves oil’, taking with it the impurities that cause dull and blemished skin.
Botanicals natural hydrating and clarifying mist (£14.95) is made with Botanicals’ own organic flower water, and combines a high percentage of organic glycerine (a natural humectant that draws moisture to the skin), with organic white and green tea extracts – selected for their powerful antioxidant properties.
The hydrating mist can be used on its own as a gentle morning cleanser, or to hydrate and clarify the skin after deeper cleansing; leaving the skin feeling plumped and refreshed.
Botanicals rejuvenating facial serum (16.50) delivers botanical actives, vitamins and antioxidants directly to the skin’s lower layers, helping to nourish and repair, fight free radicals, and promote a radiant complexion.
Other products in the Botanicals organic skin care range include rejuvenating clay masks, a deeply-nourishing facial balm, facial massage oil, and – for those who prefer traditional cleansing methods – a nourishing lotion cleanser. An eye make-up remover will soon to be added to the range.
Try me sets (sample enclosed): Botanicals has created a range of ‘Try me sets’ for each skin type. These enable customers to test the products before committing to full sizes. The sets cost just £7.95 and are all available on the Botanicals website.
