botanical clipping: dateline: October 2005Embrace magazineBased on the edge of Rutland, Botanicals has launched a brand new and superb range of natural and organic lifestyle products. The company specialises in products made from purely organic and plant-based ingredients, including soaps, shampoos, bath soaks, massage and body oils - and they are simply stunning, with the most fabulous smells you can imagine! The fantastic products were recently featured on ITV's 'This Morning' show as part of their 'Green Week' examining environmental issues, and Botanicals is also this year's runner up in the Welland Enterprise Awards for demonstrating commitment to the environment. Founder, Wendy Stirling, started developing the products when her daughter had an alarming reaction to a 'herbal' shampoo, which actually contained a number of potentially harmful detergents, chemical emulsifiers and preservatives. Wendy researched the market and found very few producers of truly natural products in the UK, and decided to develop her own range with the help of a Rural Enterprise Grant and specialist phyto-chemists based at Loughborough University. Although based on traditional herbal remedies, all Wendy's products have been professionally formulated and comply with the strictest standards and regulations. Most are hand-made in small batches and preserved naturally. They contain no harmful preservatives, artificial colouring or chemical fragrances and no genetically modified or animal-derived ingredients. by Jane Minshall, Editor |
